Chakka ( Jack fruit) Pradaman

Ingredients:

  • Jack fruit - 15 slices
  • Jaggery - 1/4 kg
  • Moong dal - 1/2 cup
  • Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 3 Tbsp
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Dry ginger - 1/2 " piece
  • Cashew

Preparation:

  1. Take milk from coconut twice and place each milk separately. Boil the moong dal.
  2. Cut the jack fruit to small pieces and cook it in the coconut milk extracted the second time.
  3. After the jack fruit is 3/4th cooked, add the cooked moong dal and mix well.
  4. Add powdered jaggery and mix well and let to boil till the jack fruit is done.
  5. Now put off the stove and pour the coconut milk extracted first.
  6. Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashews and add powdered cardamom and dry ginger and add this to the jack fruit mixture. Mix well.

The same method can be done with nenthrapazham (banana) also instead of jack fruit.
