Chole

Ingredients:

  • Chick peas - 2 cups
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato -1
  • Ginger - 1" piece
  • Green chillies -2
  • Pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2tsp
  • Chilly powder - 1 Tbsp
  • Cardamom - 1
  • Cinnamon - 1
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cumin powder - 1tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Soak chick peas over night and cook them with little salt.
  2. Heat oil in pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and allow to splutter.
  3. Add finely chopped onion, green chillies and ginger and cook to soft.
  4. Add finely chopped tomato and cook till the oil separates and onion and tomato are finely smashed.
  5. Add the cooked chick peas, salt, chilly powder, cumin powder and let to boil till a semi solid consistency is reached.
  6. Add the lemon juice and cook for1-2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and round sliced onion.
