Erisseri

Ingredients:

  • Plaintain - 1
  • Yam - a small piece
  • Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
  • Red chillies -2
  • Pepper - 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic pods - 2-3
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Coconut grated - 2 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Coconut oil
  • Curry leaves

Preparation:

  1. Cut plaintain and yam into cubes and cook them separately with little salt.
  2. Grind coarsely coconut, red chillies, pepper, cumin seeds, garlic pods and turmeric powder.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard. Add the ground paste and cooked vegetables and pour little water. Let to boil.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a pan and roast urad dal. Roast 2 Tbsp of coconut and curry leaves to golden brown and add this to the vegetable mixture and mix well.
