Garlic Rasam

Ingredients:

  • Cooked toor dal - 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind pulp - 1/4 cup
  • Tomato - 2
  • Cumin seed - 1 tsp
  • Toor dal - 1 tsp
  • Red chilly - 2
  • Pepper - 1tsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seed - 1 tsp
  • Garlic pods - 5
  • Gingely oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves

Preparation:

  1. Fry toor dal, red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper and grind them.
  2. Boil tomato and tamarind paste with salt. Add garlic pods.
  3. Add the cooked toor dal, ground paste, and needed water and bring it to a boil.
  4. Heat oil in frying pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  5. Add this to the rasam.
