Kodi Vepudu

Ingredients:

  • Chicken -1 kg
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 5
  • Chopped Tomato – 1
  • Green chilly (chopped) – 2
  • Red Chilly powder – 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil – to fry

    Make a coarse powder of
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch stick
  • Cloves – 2
  • Cardamom – 2
  • Black pepper – 7

Preparation:

  1. Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice, 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste for 1/2 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and splutter curry leaves, fry the onions and ginger garlic paste.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  3. Now add the marinated chicken pieces and fry for few minutes.
  4. Add red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Cook till the gravy slightly thickens.
  5. Now add the powdered masala items and finely chopped coriander leaves. Fry on medium flame till the gravy thickens and becomes dry.
