Ingredients:
- Green gram - 250 gm
- Sugar - 400 gm
- Grated coconut - 3 cups
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
- Maida - 100 gm
- Rice flour - 100 gm
- Oil – to deep fry
Preparation:
- Soak the green gram (with out husk) over night.
- Cook it and smash it to a idli dough consistency and prepare idlis.
- Take the idlis out and cool them and break them.
- Take sugar syrup and mix grated coconut powder and cardamom powder and prepared green gram powder and make small balls.
- Mix both maida and rice flours, add water to make it to a batter consistency.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Dip each ball in to the batter to make a thick coating.
- Deep fry the coated balls until they turn brown.
Serve with ghee.
