Ingredients:
- Onion – 2
- Tomato - 1
- Garlic pods – 4
- Tamarind – A small lemon sized ball
- Sambar powder – 2 Tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Gingely Oil - 2 Tbsp
- Fenugreek seed – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Jaggery – 1 tsp
Preparation:
- Soak the tamarind in water and extract the tamarind pulp.
- Heat oil in a frying pan splutter mustard seeds and add curry leaves and fenugreek seeds.
- Now add garlic and onions and fry till cooked. Add chopped tomato and fry till cooked.
- Add the tamarind pulp, sambar powder, turmeric powder , salt and cook to a thick consistency. Add the jaggery and cook for a minute.
If needed u can add cooked vegetables along with the tamarind pulp.
