Vegetable Perattal

Ingredients:

  • Potato - 2
  • Carrot - 2
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato -1
  • Peas - 1/4 cup
  • Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic pods - 2
  • Fenugreek seed - 1 tsp
  • Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chillies - 5
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Roasted Bengal gram - 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Curry leaves

Preparation:

  1. Grind fenugreek seeds, poppy seeds, roasted gram, red chillies and coconut to a paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves.
  3. Add chopped onion and tomato and cook.
  4. Add peas and cook till the peas turn soft. Now add the boiled potato and carrot
  5. Add turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt and mix well.
  6. Add the ground coconut paste and mix well and cook till the gravy becomes thick.
