Vendakkai Mandi

Ingredients:

  • Lady's finger - 10
  • Onion - 1
  • Garlic pods - 8
  • Green chillies - 6
  • Tamarind pulp - 1/4 cup
  • Raw rice water - 1/2 cup (the water got while cleaning rice)
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

Preparation:

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan and add lady's finger pieces and fry them and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves.
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic and green chillies.
  4. Add the fried lady's finger and tamarind pulp.
  5. Add raw rice water and salt and boil till the gravy becomes thick.
